Salvage Operation

GSS GREY ENFORCER  Captain's Log:

3RD DAY OF THE 7TH MONTH OF CY 579

After pursuing the vessel that smuggled the stolen artifact form the Grey Hawk Public Library for three weeks down the west coast the the Azure Sea, we lost sight of the vessel in a fog bank  off the Keoland port town of SALTMARSH.

The team of adventurers hired by the Mayor to retrieve the artifact went ashore and into town to make inquiries as to the ship we are pursuing....

I have been following their progress with my "Mariners All Seeing Glass"

They have since discovered that the ship in question is a notorious smuggler/pirate vessel know as the

 Sea Ghost.  They finally caught up with the Sea Ghost and with the help of their own ship

 the Dawn Breaker they captured her and brought her into Saltmarsh as a prize.

They also made contact with a tribe of Lizard men at Dun Water and helped form an alliance with them

the Merrow, Keolith, and Locathin to defend the coast from an invasion

of "Deep Ones" known as the Sahuagin. 

AND they have YET to find the missing Item! I will keep you informed....

Treasure Gained so far:

231gp each for the Haunted House + 2491gp for Sea Ghost and

Alliance at Dun Water.  Minus 35 gp each for living expenses so far

OFFER OF A SALVAGE OPERATION

This morning a representative of the Slatmarsh mariners guild came by the docks where the

Dawn Breaker was tied up with a salvage contract:

Aubreck, one of the current maritime supply merchants, was once, about 10 years ago  the

richest man in Saltmarsh. (Primewater was only on his way up back then). Aubreck had one of his

finest ships, Emperor of the Waves fitted out for a year long voyage to

Cali (an empire on the other side of the world.) Stored onboard was a special "Chest of Holding".

The ship never returned. Aubreck nearly went bankrupted.

Five days ago one of Anders Solmer's fishing boats sighted the Emperor of the Waves.

She was a floating wreck drifting free in the wind, a ghost ship.

 Normally Ander's Solmer would have sent out one of his own vessels to claim it immediately,

BUT the report from the fishing vessel also included that the infamous PALE PROW was near by.

Ander's Solmer decided to pass on this one, and forwarded the information the the town

mariners guild, who in turn contacted Aubreck.

Aubreck's offer to Nadima is 2000gp to go to the Emperor of the Waves. AND another

10,000gp

 IF Nadima and her crew of the Dawn Breaker can retrieve the  "Chest of Holding".
